It’s not a bad idea to indulge in some craft-making before Valentine’s Day. Not only is it fun, but it gives you time to spend with your family and friends too. Cards and gifts apart, there are various other Valentine’s Day crafts that you can make. These can be decorations, party favors, or just small tidbits that will put a smile on your Valentine’s face. So check some of our Valentine’s Day craft ideas here:

Valentine’s Day Cards

Cards complete Valentine’s Day. So this Valentine’s Day go that extra mile and craft out your own handmade card. You can paint on it or stick romantic pictures or just write a poem on it or do it all together. Whatever you do, the idea is to express your love and if that is done, the rest will gladly follow. But don’t forget to tag along your own ‘Happy Valentine’s Day’ wish into it.

Candy Box

Here’s a fun idea to add more to the share of Valentine’s Day craft ideas. Why not sweeten up those candies a little more for your sweetheart on Valentine’s Day ? This is a really easy craft. Cut red glitter paper and paste it on the candy box. Now paste a picture of you and your partner in the centre, in a heart-shaped frame. When that is done, take a red valentine ribbon and make a bow with it to stick at the corner of the box or somewhere it will look chic. With the bow and the picture, your valentine will surely love the ‘extra sweetness’ of the sweets inside. You can also offer a ‘Be My Valentine’ wish with this Valentine’s Day craft.

Fun Book

Now this is one of those Valentine’s Day crafts that may require a little effort. But it’s totally worth it. If you have the tickets to the movie right from your first date or the restaurant check, then stick it on a scrap book and mention the date you first went out. You can then write a few lines on how you felt that very first time. See how many things you can get and the more you get the better. The list can be long. The first gift he/ she gave you, the first card, the first kiss and many more. If you don’t have the pictures or tickets, don’t worry. Just pen down a few words about them and enjoy the walk down memory lane with your beloved.

Hanging Hearts

This next Valentine’s Day craft can be doubled up as a wall decoration too. Take a piece of cardboard and cut out three heart shaped pieces of equal size. Paint them red and stick on them golden and silver glitter. You can border them with lace. Then take a thick, long ribbon and stick the decorated hearts on it, one below the other with some space in between. Twirl the ribbon at the top a little to get a small loop. Your love-ly wall hanging is complete. And you bet this is one of those Valentine’s Day crafts that will win hearts instantly !

Hand Printed Cards

This craft is perfect for the kids. Take a piece of plain paper, fold it and ask the kids to dip their hands in color and print them on the top portion of the paper. Then write ‘Happy Valentine’s Day’ at the bottom and you have a perfectly adorable card ! These cards are big hits especially with grandparents who adore the cute effort of the little kiddos.

Bookmark

Take a 2”/ 6cm long cardboard strip and cover it with red construction paper. Then stick small hearts all over it and write your lover’s and your name on it with a silver pen. You can also spread some shimmer on it. Attach a narrow ribbon to it and you have your adorable Valentine’s bookmark. Another of the easy-to-do and fun-to-make Valentine’s Day crafts to help you impress your dear ones on February 14.

Pinata

A pinata is always a favorite for any holiday. But since it’s Valentine’s Day, it wont be a bad idea to modify the pinata a little ! Instead of the regular gifts and confetti, put only heart-shaped candies and other things associated with love—may be miniature love-birds or small hugging teddies in it. Cut red construction paper and use it as confetti. And if you don’t mind going through the trouble, try to craft out a heart-shaped red pinata in the first place.

Table Mats

When love is all around, why leave out even the smallest detail ? So for that special Valentine’s Day dinner with the love of your life, dress up your table mats accordingly. This is one of those Valentine’s Day crafts that you’ll love to do for your sweetie pie. Take a red cloth and cut it in two heart shapes, each big enough to fit a plate, a wine glass and the cutlery. Then stitch beautiful lace to the sides and place them on the table. Finish it off by placing silver tableware on them to add the irresistible taste and mood to your Valentine’s Day !

Coupons

And this one is a real fun Valentine’s Day craft idea. It is easy to make and is always a winner ! Cut a few heart-shaped pieces from red construction paper. Then on each piece write a favor like “breakfast in bed”, “free massage”, “shopping spree”, “movie and dinner”, etc. Now compile the pieces—either staple them together or use a spiral binder. Once that is done, you have the coupon book ready to give to your partner. He/ she would surely be pretty excited by the choices to make on D-day !

Flower Power

To make the mood all the more irresistible and romantic, stick small hearts on the flower vase to make it look just as wonderful as the blooms themselves. The effect will be better if the vase is silver or golden. And this will make a lovely décor for your Valentine’s Day party or the dinner table. So think about it.

Try out these Valentine’s Day craft idea and have a jolly good time this February 14. Team these up with your own innovative ideas to have a memorable time. But be very careful while working with scissors and glue. Your partner will surely appreciate your efforts, but he/ she will like it much more if you don’t hurt your hand or glue your fingers together on Valentine’s Day !
